allow 在口語中的用法：
1. allow意為“允許；許可”，常用于“allow sb. to do sth.”結構，表示“允許某人做某事” 。allow后面可接動名詞作賓語，不可用動詞不定式作賓語，即： allow doing sth.“允許做某事” 。如：

My father allowed me to play basketball after finishing my homework. 我的父親允許我做完作業后打籃球 。

They do not allow smoking in public. 他們不允許在公共場合吸煙 。

[注意] allow用于被動語態時，必須接不定式作賓語補足語，不能接動名詞形式 ?！癝b. / Sth. be allowed to do sth.”結構，也可在allow后面接介詞短語，即“Sb. / Sth. be allowed 介詞短語” 。如：

Women were not allowed to take part in the games. 婦女是不允許參加這些比賽的 。

I don't allow dogs in the house. 我不允許狗進屋 。

2. allow意為“讓……得到；同意給予”，后面接雙賓語 。如：

How much money does your father allow you every week? 你爸爸每周給你多少錢？

3. allow意為“承認”，后面可跟從句，也可跟“to be”復合賓語 。如：

We had to allow that he was the best teacher we had met. 我們不得不承認他是我們遇到的最好的老師 。

We must allow him to be a genius. 我們必須承認他是個天才 。

4. allow for 表示“考慮到；體諒” 。如：

You have to allow for the weather there. 你不得不考慮到那里的天氣 。

5. allow還常與 out, in, up等副詞搭配使用，即 allow sb. in / out / up等 。如：

The patient was allowed up after ten days. 十天后這位病人才被允許起床(下地) 。

[注意] 口語中常說Allow me!，用于表示要搶先做某事，以表示客氣 。
allow的用法：
A:allow 的用法 1)allow作“允許”或“許可”講，常搭用動詞不定式短語作賓語補足語即，allow sb. to do sth.允許某人做某事 ①Please allow me to carry your bag. 請讓我替你拿包 。②My boss doesn't allow me to use the telephone. 我的老板不允許我用電話 。③We were allowed to smoke in this room only. 我們只許在這間屋子里抽煙 。2)allow 作“許可”，“允許”講，只可搭配動名詞短語作賓語，不可直接搭用動詞不定式作賓補，即只可說 allow doing sth., 不可說allow to do sth. ①They allowed smoking in this room only. 他們只允許在這間屋子里抽煙 。②Smoking is not allowed here. 此處禁止吸煙 。3)allow還常與 out, in, up等副詞搭配使用，即 allow sb. in/out/up等 。①She won't allow the children in until they've wiped their shoes. 直到孩子們把鞋擦干凈，她才讓他們進來 。②She is not allowed out after dark. 天黑后，不準她出去 。③The patient was allowed up after ten days. 十天后病人才被允許起床(下地) ?！咀⒁狻肯旅娴莫毩⒅鞲窠Y構，表示條件 Circumstances allowing, we shall further improve out farming method.(即 If circumstances allow, we shall further improve our farming method.)如果情況許可的話，我們將進一步改進工作方法 。
關于allow的用法：
