一、中國越來越重視公共圖書館 ， 并鼓勵人們充分加以利用 。解析：
“重視”最常見的譯法是pay attention to ， 除此之外還有attach importance to； think highly of； take sth. seriously； stress on以及單個動詞value和treasure等 。
鼓勵：encourage ， 反義詞discourage ， 名詞encouragement
充分利用：make full use of ， 也可使用 make the best of； make the most of； take full advantage of 等 。
譯文：China is paying more and more attention to public libraries and encouraging people to make full use of them.

二、新近公布的統計數字表明 ， 中國的公共圖書館數量在逐年增長 。解析：
1、“新近公布的統計數字”中心詞是statistics ， “新近公布”用作定語 ， 可使用分詞newly-released 。
例：a newly-built house新建的房子（注意連字符）
“數量在增長”用the number of …… is growing
2、a number of和the number of是中學時期?？嫉恼Z法點 ， 前者是修飾詞 ， 中心詞是后接的復數形式的可數名詞；后者中心詞是“number”指數字 ， 盡管也后接復數形式的可數名詞 ， 但謂語動詞與the number有關 ， 使用單數形式 。
3、如果表示單純的動作重復 ， 用year after year（年復一年）
如果表示數量變動 ， 用year by year（逐年）
譯文：According to the newly-released statistics, the number of public libraries in China is growing year by year.

三、許多圖書館通過翻新和擴建 ， 為讀者創造了更為安靜、舒適的環境 。解析：主句是“圖書館創造……的環境” ， 而是“通過翻新和擴建”方式狀語 。
根據句意判斷 ， 以“現在完成時”為宜 ， 強調“截至目前”的成果 。
譯文：A large number of libraries have created a quietier and more comfortable environment for readers through refurbishedment and expansion.
四、大型公共圖書館不僅提供種類繁多的參考資料 ， 而且定期舉辦講座、展覽等活動 。解析：
1、“提供”可使用provide, offer, supply, furnish等 。
2、“種類繁多”可用various或a variety of…… ， 為了表示種類之多 ， 可在variety前加great, wide等詞 。也可使用a good range of……
3、不僅……而且……最常用的譯法是not only/just……but (also)……
也可使用連接詞besides, moreover, furthermore, in addition, what’s more等 。
4、“定期”用regular 。
這個詞在四六級中出現頻率很高 。

五、近年來 ， 也出現了許多數字圖書館 ， 從而節省了存放圖書所需要的空間 。解析：
1、“近年來”是?？嫉姆g短語 ， in recent years ， 時態用現在完成時 。
2、“出現了許多數字圖書館”和“從而節省了存放圖書所需要的空間”之間可以用“so that”連接 ， 后接狀語從句 。（如果較正式文本 ， 可用thus； thereby； thereupon then； so then accordingly等）
