One morning, when he was ready to herd them, he noticed one of them was gone. Observing carefully, he found a hole in the sheepfold. Obviously, a wolf must have got in and stolen the sheep. His neighbor advised him to fix the sheepfold, but he didn’t accept it. Finding that another sheep was carried away by the wolf the next day, he remembered the words of his neighbor’s and then he hurried to repair the sheepfold by plugging the hole. The peasant ate the rabbit with ease and was overjoyed. He thought “it would be wonderful if it were always like this!” So he stopped plowing and waited by the tree every day，waiting for another rabbit to be picked up from the tree. He waited and waited day after day. The field was deserted but he never got a second rabbit. Therefore, people laughed at him for taking the chance for granted.
