讀法：英 [s??]、美 [so?] 。
釋義：
1、adv. 那么；這樣；如此 。
舉例：He felt pity for a man suffering so much.
他對那個受過那么多痛苦的人感到同情 。
2、adj. 真的；非常 。
舉例：So I really enjoyed my tea just now.
所以剛才的茶點我真的很欣賞 。
3、conj. 因此；所以；以便 。
舉例：It was snowing, and so I could not go out.
天在下雪，所以我無法外出 。
用法1、so用作副詞時常用于形容詞或其他副詞之前，用于表示程度，作“這么，那么”解 。
2、so作“同樣，也”解時，其后跟be，have，do或will，can，should等，然后再接主語 。
3、so作“當然”解時后接there或代詞主語，然后再接be，have，do或will，can，should等 。
4、so也可用于代替已經陳述的事物，尤用在接that……的動詞之后 。
