這個三個詞都有：推測，假定之意，但是，含義和用法卻大不相同 。
1.assume v. 設想，假定，以為，推定
指想當然地將未經證實的事進行設想、假定或推測，比較武斷 。如：
I didn\’t see your cell phone, so I assumed you\’d left.
我沒看見你的手機，所以我以為你離開了 。
People assume they know me through and through the moment we meet.
人們一見到我，就自以為對我了如指掌了 。
Putting two and two together, I assume that this was the car he used.
根據我的了解，我猜想這是他曾開過的車子 。

2.presume v. [正式]假設，假定；相信；料想，認為
常指以已有的經驗、信息等為依據進行合乎邏輯的推測、推斷，有信心有證據的基礎上的假定；但結論可能有誤 。如：
I presumed (that) he understood the rules.
我相信他明白這些規則 。
I presumed him to be her husband.
我料想那就是她丈夫 。

3.suppose v. [正式]假定；猜想，推斷，認為，料想，設想，假設
指在某一前提條件下或根據已有知識、信息等進行推測，有時用于表達意見 。
基于一些證據的猜測(認為) 。暗含著自己對對方所說的話信心不足，但自己目前無法證明對方是錯誤的 。另外也有假設的意思 。通常的用法是自己 suppose其他人 。如：
I suppose your presence here today is not entirely coincidental.
我認為你今天來這里不完全是碰巧 。
